1. Requirements​

To connect Instagram DMs to Texterz, you must have:

  • An Instagram Business Account.
  • A Facebook Page linked to your Instagram account.
  • "Allow Access to Messages" enabled in your Instagram settings.

2. Setup Process​

  1. Navigate to Channels > Instagram in the Texterz dashboard.
  2. Click Connect via Facebook.
  3. Log in to your Facebook account and select the Page and Instagram account you want to connect.
  4. Grant the necessary permissions for Texterz to manage your DMs.
  5. Click Finish.

3. How it Works​

Once connected, every message sent to your Instagram DM will be processed by your AI agent:

  • Story Replies: The bot can respond to users who reply to your Stories.
  • Direct Messages: Standard 1-on-1 inquiries.
  • Human Handover: If a user asks for a person, the conversation will be escalated to the Texterz dashboard.

4. Limitations​

  • 24-Hour Window: Similar to WhatsApp, Meta imposes a 24-hour response window for Instagram Business DMs.
  • Media: While the bot can handle text, processing high volumes of images or videos may require additional configuration (Coming Soon).

Security Note​

Texterz uses the official Meta Graph API for Instagram, ensuring your account remains compliant with Instagram's terms of service.
