Calendar Tools
Texterz agents can directly access and manage calendars to automate scheduling without human intervention.
1. Supported Calendars
- Google Calendar: Full sync for availability and event creation.
- Microsoft Outlook/365: (Coming Soon)
- Calendly: Deep tool connection for link-based booking.
- Cal.com: Open-source alternative to Calendly, fully supported.
- CalDAV: Connect to custom calendar servers (Nextcloud, iCloud, etc.).
2. How it Works
Availability Checks
Before suggesting a time to a customer, the agent can check your connected calendar to ensure there are no conflicts. This prevents double-booking and ensures the agent only offers valid slots.
Event Creation
Once a user agrees on a time, the agent can:
- Create the Event: Add the appointment directly to your calendar.
- Send Invites: Both you and the customer receive a calendar invite with the meeting details.
- Handle Rescheduling: If a user needs to change the time later, the agent can find a new slot and update the existing event.
3. Calendly vs. Direct Sync
| Feature | Calendly Tool | Direct Calendar Sync |
|---|---|---|
| Setup Speed | Ultra-fast (Link based) | Moderate (OAuth) |
| UX | User clicks a link | User chats for the time |
| Control | Uses Calendly's rules | Uses Texterz Agent logic |
| Tracking | Tracked via Webhook | Tracked natively |
4. Setting up a Calendar Tool
- Go to the Tools section of your bot.
- Select Google Calendar or Calendly.
- Authorize the connection via OAuth.
- Define the Booking Goal in your Agent's system prompt (e.g., "Always try to get the user to book a 15-minute intro call").
